UK media regulator warns BBC about swearing DJ’sUK media regulator Ofcom says it is losing patience with the BBC following repeated breaches of the Broadcasting Code by some of its presenters on Radio 1. It has warned the Corporation that it may consider further regulatory action if there are further beaches of the Broadcasting Code. In its latest Broadcast Bulletin, Ofcom says: “During the last year, we have published five findings concerning swearing and/or inappropriately scheduled content. Two cases were in breach of the relevant Code. A further three cases were resolved due to action taken by the broadcaster. "We appreciate the wide choice of content that is broadcast by the station, but we have concerns about the number and, in some cases, the seriousness of compliance issues that have arisen. "We recognise that Radio 1 aims to produce imaginative and innovative programming but the station also attracts a wide-ranging audience, including large numbers of children. It is, therefore, important that the station’s compliance reflects this. Any future similarly serious compliance issues may result in the consideration of further regulatory action.” The BBC immediately responded to the comments by saying that presenters
