GB3RAL proposed 40 and 60 MHz beacon update

New GB3RAL 40.05 and 60.05MHz VHF beacons are due RIS clearance in mid-June but both have already cleared their key Primary User stages.

Assuming RIS clearance is also obtained they will go forward to NFAP for final clearance and approval sometime this summer

This brings us closer to the prospect of a unique 40/50/60/70MHz co-located beacon system at the Rutherford Appleton Labs location near Oxford.

A 70.05MHz licence for GB3RAL was recently approved in April to join an existing 50.05MHz clearance.

Note the 40/60 pair, if they clear all approval stages, will create a special progagation resource. Remember these are not Amateur bands.
