1832 J.I. Howe patented the pin machine, better known as a pinmaker.

1834 C. McCormick patented the first practical reaper for farming.

1837 Victoria becomes Queen of Great Britain etc.

1859 A. Lanergan of Boston, MA received the first rocket patent.

1863 First gaslights come on in Adelaide, South Australia.

1868
C.Sholes patents first typewriter.

1896 Prof. Bragg demonstrates X-rays in Adelaide.
