Special GB Callsigns for 50th JOTA 2007

Ofcom have agreed to issue GB50xxx callsigns to all UK JOTA stations this year in recognition of the role that the event has played in enabling Scouts to talk to Scouts around the World by Amateur Radio.

When applying for one of these licences please observe the following instruction that are associated with this Special Special Event Call Sign.

• The callsign is only available for the 50 hours of JOTA (from 19 October 22:00 hrs local time to 21 October 24:00 hrs local time).

• All applications must be made within 28 days of the event, no late applications will be accepted.

• All applications must, in keeping with the SSES policy, be accompanied by a supporting letter signed by the Scout Leader or equivalent from the Troop that the SSES will be representing.

- Applications should be made on the usual form, OfW287 that can be found at:

If you have ever run a JOTA station (or if you haven't), please make an effort to run one in 2007 and make the Jubilee JOTA the biggest ever.
