Special Event Station GB96MWT ChelmsfordGB96MWT will be on the air today commemorating 96 years since the Marconi New Street Works was opened in Chelmsford. The Marconi Wireless Telegraph company moved to the site on 12th June 1912 and over the years was responsible for many innovations which helped transform worldwide communications. The station will be active from the New Street Works from 10:00 until 16:00 GMT.
