On
the Road with PW
Practical Wireless editor Rob Mannion G3XFD
always enjoys meeting readers of PW, and often tours the country visiting
amateur radio clubs throughout the United Kingdom.
This week, Rob heads 'north of the border' to Scotland once again - this time paying a visit to the Wigtownshire Amateur Radio Club in Stranraer.
Flying from Southampton Airport on Thursday, Rob will be met at Glasgow Airport by
RSGB Rep
Len Paget GM0ONX, who is a member of the Kilmarnock and Loudoun Amateur Radio Club.
Their first stop en-route to the Wigtownshire ARC will be a flying visit to see Norrie and Rose Brown of the well-known Tennamast company in Ayrshire - known by radio amateurs around the world as the manufacturers of high- quality antenna towers and masts.
Then in the evening, and after a few false starts, Rob finally gets to visit the Wigtownshire Club - a club that he had planned on visiting in April of this year, but unfortunately had to postpone at the last minute.
If you're in the area and would like to meet both Rob and Len, then pop-along to the meeting, which gets underway at 7pm this Thursday, 5th June. Visitors are most welcome.
You'll find the club at:

Rob will be staying overnight in Kilmarnock before returning home on Friday.
Rob expressed special thanks to Len Paget GM0ONX.
"Without Len's time, help and hard work" he said, "none of these visits would be possible".
