Discussions begin on RAC / Canadian Red Cross MOU

The Radio Amateurs of Canada Field Services Organization has begun discussions with the Canadian Red Cross to update the Memorandum of Understanding that has existed between RAC and the CRC since 1994.

RAC Past President Earle Smith, VE6NM, has been commissioned by the Vice President Field Services to act on behalf of RAC in revisiting and modernizing the documents.

The MOU details RAC's undertaking to provide communications through the Amateur Radio Emergency Service and the National Traffic System, as well as for the two organizations to work closely with one another during emergency situations in Canada.

The existing MOU may be seen at www.rac.ca/downloads/redcross.pdf .
