SuitSat pushes Amateur Radio engineers' limits

A TechOnline article by Patrick Mannion features the forthcoming ARISS/AMSAT Amateur Radio SuitSat-2 project.

The "Under The Hood" article "Extreme design: SuitSat pushes engineers' limits" by Patrick Mannion describes the work of Lou McFadin W5DID, Steve Bible N7HPR and others who are building on the successes of SuitSat-1 to produce SuitSat-2.

The SuitSats make use of decommissioned Space Suits on the International Space Station (ISS). They are converted for Amateur Radio educational applications and then launched from the ISS.

SuitSat-2 will feature Amateur Slow Scan TV transmissions and a crossband linear transponder.
