The balloon transponder module

Amateur Radio balloon payload missing

On Saturday, June 26, a high altitude balloon carrying an Amateur Radio linear transponder was launched during the Friedrichshafen Ham Radio event but, when the balloon was found, the payload had gone.

The DARC report that early Monday evening, the group led by Michael Matthes, DL2SEK, received a message that the balloon was found in a garden in Weisslingen ZH, but they discovered the payload, a pink box, was missing.

This represents not only a financial loss for the group but also the loss of the time and effort that went into making it. They would like to hear from whoever has the payload so a reward can be given.
