New UK Amateur Radio Foundation licence syllabus

The new UK Foundation Amateur Radio exam syllabus, to be used from 1st July 2011, is now available. The number of exam questions increases to 26.

The syllabus changes are new sections 8a.5 and 8a.6 on operating and renumbering the existing 8a.5 as 8a.7.

The two new items are assigned to question number 24 with the existing topics of Q24 moved to 25 and those from 25 becoming question number 26.

The exam will then comprise 26 questions with a pass mark of 19 (currently 18) and the same time of 45 minutes allowed.

The RSGB Amateur Radio Tutors Reflector is a Yahoo group open to Registered Instructors for the UK Amateur Radio Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced Communication Examinations.

As well as providing a forum to communicate with other instructors, the group has a files section containing much that can be of use in teaching the courses.
