UK Low Frequency ArrayBBC TV broadcast a report on the Low Frequency Array (LOFAR-UK) radio telescope comprising 96 antennas that has been installed at the Chilbolton Observatory. The project, which has included contributions from scientists at universities in Portsmouth, Southampton and Oxford, will combine the signals received from the antennas to make images of the sky, using a "super-computer" based in the Netherlands. Eventually the system will also receive data from 5,000 antennas located in Europe. There are two types of antenna, the Low Band Antenna (LBA) operates between 10 and 90 MHz and the High Band Antenna (HBA) between 110 and 250 MHz. The YouTube description reads: Segment about the LBA Installation at the LOFAR-UK site in Chilbolton from BBC South Today on June 10th 2010. LOFAR-UK BBC article - Telescope 'to find' space origin
