PI4VAD Field Day June 2010

Last Saturday, we had our local Field Day activity with members of department 12 (Dordrecht) of the Dutch Amateur Radio Society VERON.

Our department, callsign PI4VAD, came together on one of the fields in Brandwijk (locator JO21jv) next to the Dairy cows.

The weather was great and all of the members had the chance to test their mobile rigs and antennas with very low QRM and noise level.

Most of them are not used to give a 5 by 0 signal report in a Phone QSO! Although the official Fieldday is for CW, most of us are using Phone to make a QSO.

One of our members joined the VHF Fieldday contest. All others operated on HF.

A few are member of the Lowlands 5x5 RaDAR Group. They are able to be QRV on HF within 5 minutes after arriving (if necessary after walking to a remote site).

Operation is at a QRP power level of 5 watts maximum.

We made a short HD movie to show all others what we did during the Fieldday.

The movie can be watched on YouTube:
