Packet radio in Queensland not yet dead

Although South East Queensland has lost the VK4BOO and VK4YDM bulletin board systems this year, they now have one new system up and running and another one on the way.

Martin VK4HMD in Toowoomba now has his system operating on 144.825 MHz and later in the year Gary VK4CUZ will plug the coverage hole on the north side of Brisbane.

Bruce VK4TRS has his Internet/AMPRnet gateway connected into the Queensland Digital Group network via VK4RZB while Samantha VK4TTT is providing services via VK4RZA.

VK4TRS via VK4RZB-8 also provides the QDG network with a solidly based server for wwconvers and LinNode.

The network Node of VK4RZB-8 is regularly visited by international users looking for people and nodes to connect to.

As always, more detailed information is available on the
www.qdg.org.au web site.
