OSCAR Designations Awarded to Cute Satellites

AMSAT-NA have issued offical OSCAR numbers to the Cute-I and Cute-1.7 + APD Amateur Radio Satellites. They are now known as Oscar 55 and 56 respectively.

OSCAR stands for "Orbital Satellite Carrying Amateur Radio".

The official authorisation issued by Bill Tynan W3XO on behalf of AMSAT-NA reads:

By the authority vested in me by the AMSAT-NA President, I am pleased to issue your CubeSat amateur satellites the designation CUBESAT-OSCAR-55, or CO-55 and CUBESAT-OSCAR-56 or CO-56.

AMSAT-NA and I wish to congratulate you and the entire Cute-1.7 team, as well as the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Your pioneering work will certainly inspire others to follow you in constructing and launching this very innovative type of spacecraft.

Cute-1.7 + APD has been recovered from serious trouble.
Currently, the satellite has no problem. The details of recovery operation are shown in the following weblog.

We have received OSCAR numbers for our Cute-1.7 + APD and CUTE-I from AMSAT-NA.
