Chaiyong, HS1QVD, elected new president of RAST Outgoing president Mayuree, HS1YL, declines to stand

Veteran member of the Radio Amateur Society of Thailand (RAST) and the former First Vice President of the society Chaiyong Wongwuticomjon, HS1QVD, was elected president of RAST for a two-year term after outgoing president Mrs Mayuree Chotikul, HS1YL, declined to run again, citing health reasons.

He was elected unopposed at the society's annual general meeting on Sunday, March 5, 2006, along with an 11-member committee, comprising Khun Phattanadit HS1WFK, Khun Kunchit HS1JC, Finn Jensen OZ1HET, John (Narissara) HS1CHB, Brian Lee HS0ZEN, Khun Phatchara HS0QAA, Gen Prasit HS1DN, Khun Yannee HS1LCC, Sven HZ0ZFZ, Khun Uthai HS1RGF and Khun Kamol E20EHQ.

The meeting was well attended and members present listened first to an address made by President of the Voluntary Radio Association (VRA) Sombat Uthaisang.
