Storacall Voice Systems Launches New ‘Blue’s
Professional’ Call Logging Software
Call logging as a way of managing the cost of telephone calls and monitoring
activity and efficiency has been around for a long time, but it is no
longer an expensive or complex add-on to a telephone system.
Storacall Voice Systems has just launched the new ‘Blue’s
Professional’ call logging software with pricing starting at just
£185.00 + VAT for the full version. Blues provides extensive real-time
and historical analysis of telephone systems by recording the call data
from any telephone systems including the latest IP PABX and then displaying
it using a range of simple to read graphs and tables.
Information about monthly costs, incoming and outgoing calls, the number
of unanswered calls and cost comparisons between individual departments
are available at the click of a mouse. In addition information on budget
overshoots, calls to prohibited telephone numbers, non-functional telephone
lines, excessively long calls, number of rings to answer calls and other
detailed information about company telephone use can be ascertained. These
statistics can be delivered to the relevant manager or to several recipients
automatically on a daily, weekly or monthly basis by e-mail as required.
The system can also cover multiple sites including any branch offices
or subsidiary companies.
In addition, alarms can be set up to notify managers as soon as something
undesirable happens; such as, going over budget, calls to prohibited numbers,
telephone lines that don’t work, or too many calls not being answered.
With
the extension configuration tool every extension in an organisation can
be customised for a wide range of criteria including access levels, the
cost mark-up of calls, the confidentiality level for dialled numbers,
department and cost centre definitions. For instance a password can be
set up that allows the telephone operator to edit the phone book but prevents
them from seeing or deleting calls; or viewing only the phone calls of
a single department or of a single region
As a multi-carrier system, Blue’s Professional can handle call
data being routed over more than one carrier network with different tariffs
and uses this information for accurately calculating the costs of all
calls. Tariffs can be updated over the internet and with the use of the
tariff comparison tool the costs of telephone calls can be compared with
what the calls would have cost with several alternative carriers based
on real telephone traffic data. This also ranks the chosen carriers enabling
the most cost effective carrier to be determined.
Statistics
on both incoming and outgoing calls are generated so that they can be
evaluated directly for the users specific purposes. General overviews,
total costs, lists of calls, cost analysis based on different groupings
and efficiencies are just some of the options which the user can display
in real time. Using particular data filters, the information can be further
tuned to the user’s requirements and can be exported and printed
in all current formats, such as PDF, Excel, Word and HTML.
Blues Professional can be installed on a stand alone PC or on the network
so that users can access any part of the system from their desktop subject
to the necessary security permissions. The telephone directory for example
can be made accessible to all employees or specified users, such as the
personnel office, over the network.
The solution is scalable and therefore grows with the company and where
the volume of telephone is very high, it is possible to use MS-SQL, which
can be operated together with the Blue’s Enterprise Pro software.
