Tait Electronics 'going for gold'

Radio manufacturer, Tait Electronics, is hoping a $20 million deal to improve communications at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, will pave the way for more work with Australia's biggest telco.

Tait says it's teamed-up with Telstra to upgrade Victoria's mobile radio network, which will be used by police and officials at the Games.

Tait's managing director, Michael Chick, says the company will bid for work flowing from other major sporting events; including the 2012 London Olympics, and the hosting of the 2011 Rugby World Cup
