Colchester Foundation CourseColchester Radio Amateurs will be holding a 1-day foundation licence assessment on Sunday 24th June 2007 at Marks Tey Parish Hall, Colchester, CO6 1EN. The day will include all that you need to obtain your Foundation Amateur Radio Licence. There are 12 places available and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The course will consist of 3 Parts. Practical sessions and assessments from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm, a 1½ hour Tutorial session from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm and a final assessment from 2:45 pm until 4:00 pm. Allowing time for overruns, marking and presentations, the course should be finished by 5:00 pm. Because of the limited tutorial time a high degree of self-study will be required for this course although help is on hand if you need it, please just ask. The cost of the course is £45.00. This includes the RSGB examination fee of £20.00. This letter is going out to a considerable number of candidates and the 12 places will be allocated to the first candidates sending a positive reply, along with a cheque for £45.00 made payable to Colchester Radio Amateurs. Please include your full name, address, and date of birth with your reply. These are essential for obtaining your exam papers. A telephone number and e-mail address would also be useful in case contact needs to be made in a hurry Colchester Radio Amateurs ‘Foundation Pack’, contains all the study materials that you need to sit the exam and carry out the practical activities. This pack will be sent out to successful candidates upon receipt of a cheque as detailed above. Cheques will be returned to unsuccessful applicants. If you have previously paid for the foundation materials from CRA please deduct £5.00 from the total. If you are an RSGB member you can also receive £5.00 discount off the examination fee, you must quote your RS number to receive this further discount. Please also indicate if you already have a copy of the RSGB Foundation Now Book. Colchester Radio Amateurs are committed to making Amateur Radio a hobby accessible for all; the venue is all at ground floor level with easy access and full toilet facilities for wheelchair users. There are ample disabled car parking spaces immediately outside the hall. Training materials are available in Audio on either CD or MP3 format for a small additional cost.
