The Bandwith payment in EU

I would like to give you good news but, as Finnish local Radio regulatory Ficora say in their website, 2006 brought the occupied bandwith payment to Hams here in Finland.

Now 2007 we had the new formula to wide FM ATV and other repeaters bandwidths, and now we have to pay 180-220 EUR per ATV repeater/Year, depending the used BW.

The formula is like this:

K4 is crodwded freq's area multiplier
K4 is here 1.1

FREQ is count of freqencies compared to 25 KHz
FREQ ATV repeater OH1RTU BW =16 MHz is 640

BASEFEE is 1295.5 EUR @2007

S is BASEFEE multiplier to equalize BASEFEE to different radio systems from table
S is 0.015

BWpayment= K4 x tripleSQuere (FREQ) x BASEFEE x S

The BW payment is said to come from EU here, so beware this payment, it may be coming to you too!

B efore 2006 the repeater annual fee was the same as every Ham abt 16 EUR

Our club OH1AA has multiple repeaters and this new BW payment is hitting hard on our club's economy.

The (BW) payment for normal ham station is 18 EUR / Year / callsign
