Hamnet 40-metre contest today

The annual South African Radio League Hamnet 40 Metre Simulated Emergency Contest will be on the air this afternoon starting at 14:00 and ending at 16:00 CAT.

This phone-only contest is open to radio amateurs and SWL's in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Marion Island and South African Antarctic.

There are four categories for participation: single operator stationery mobile, single operator portable, multi operator portable and base station. The exchange is a RS report and a three-figure serial number depending on the class of participation.

It is important that the rules for the contest as well as the general contest rules be read before 14:00 this afternoon.
