Cententary Celebration of Longest Telegraphy Communication Between Portland and Gibraltar

The South Dorset Radio Society is operating a radio station in celebration of the longest telegraphy contact from Portland to Gibraltar in 1907.

The telegraphy equipment moved from Radio Cottages, now known as Coastguard Cottages, half a mile up Branscombe Hill in 1905.

South Dorset Radio Society will be transmittting world-wide and will hopefully make contact with the Gibraltar Station(s) to pass on greetings of the celebration.

The event runs from 1000 to 1630 GMT on Saturday and Sunday 3/4th March.
