Titanic Special Event

To commemorate the 95th anniversary of the sinking of the
Titanic, ham radio operators worldwide will participate in a special event broadcast originating from the TITANIC Museum Attraction (in Branson, Missouri) beginning at 8 a.m., Saturday, April 14th, and concluding at 7p.m., Sunday, April 15th.

Members of the Nixa Amateur Radio Club will transmit the news of the anniversary using the special event callsign W0S. Operators from Nixa, Missouri, have permission from the FCC to broadcast using this special callsign which stands for "White Star," the name of the company that built the Titanic.

The worldwide broadcast will take place to honor the radio broadcasters working aboard the Titanic on the night she sank. ADDED NOTE: A UK group is also expected to be active.
