Ofcom enables temporary use of the 169.6125 to 169.8125 MHz band

Ofcom has published a decision to allow the temporary use of PMR (Private Mobile Radio) and PMSE (Programme Making & Special Events) services in the 169.6125 to 169.8125 MHz band for up to a maximum of six months.

Separately Ofcom has also published a decision to amend the Wireless Telegraphy (Exemption) Regulations 2003 to make various equipment licence exempt including:

A number of Short Range Devices (SRDs) including glider anti-collision technology;
Building Material Analysis (BMA) devices using Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technologies; and
Certain equipment used in terminals for Fixed Satellite Services in the 27.5 - 27.8185 GHz, 28.4545 - 28.8265 GHz and 29.4625 - 30 GHz bands.
