Alan G6CBP

Alan G6CBP Silent Key

It is with great sadness that the WRAA have to report the passing of one of its oldest members.

Alan G6CBP is best known to many in this area as the man from the “Radio Investigation service”, and many of us remember his delicate manner in dealing with interference issues.

Alan was possibly the most interesting gentleman many of us have ever met; he was always courteous and willing to share his stories with anyone who had the time. That’s probably the thing that many of us will miss, he had a way with words and his recall for fine detail was amazing. He has had a fascinating 90 years on this planet, and we a certain his up there right now making sure we keep in line and ready with his book of “pink slips” for those of us who misbehave.

Alan’s funeral will take place at Worcester crematorium 26 th March 2008 at 11.30am, followed by a gathering of friends at a local hostelry.

If you are able to attend and give this fine old gentleman the send off he deserves, please contact us at info@wraa.co.uk so we are able to account for numbers.

73 Alan, you will be missed by all of us at the club.

Pete G0WXJ

WRAA Chairman.
