World Wide ATV Open House

The ATV Newsletter is putting together a World Wide ATV Open House - a virtual Open House, to get more members for your groups and clubs, and to make all radio hams aware of ATV and give them a chance to get on the air and make some contacts with their computer.

The Open House will run for 24 hours and open to all radio amateurs that want in on the fun. By taking advantage of the technology of the Internet and using streaming communications via Skype, ooVoo, echolink, talkback/talkin freqs and even the keyboard and the chat rooms a QSO can be made.

With these simple tools we can open the doors of ATV and have a chance to show off our stations, our repeaters and our world of ATV.

The date of the World Wide ATV Open House will be somewhere between September and the first part of December. But that will give us all a chance to get all our ducks in a row.

I want to raise the level of awareness for ATV in the Amateur Radio world and create more interest. Here is one example of how this Open House will do the job. Here in Southern California in an area called San Fernando Valley.
And it has a population of 1.6 million people and has only 3 hams involved in ATV. And there are two ATV repeater systems in the area. No one knows that the repeaters are there. And I bet it's the same in your area.

I will be putting together a list of ATV repeaters that want in on the World Wide ATV Open House so I can get the information to the Amateur Radio Publications.

Radio hams will be able to see that there are ATV repeaters in Baltimore, Wichita, Los Angeles. San Jose, Las Vegas, Grimsby UK, Dallas, Rockford, Bowling Green or.. wherever your repeater is located.
