GB0BUZZ marks visit of Buzz Aldrin to Pontefract
Pontefract and District Amateur Radio Society are running special event station GB0BUZZ from 2th March until 30th March 2008.
The station marks the visit of astronaut and moon walker Buzz Aldrin to Pontefract on Sunday, 30th March.
Colonel Aldrin is giving a presentation at Carleton High School during the evening. Buzz Aldrin retired from NASA in the early 1970's. Since then, he has continued to promote space exploration and to speak about space and his experiences.
The club's website says the station should be on the air daily on 80m and 40m HF amateur bands and on 2m VHF. Other bands depend on availability of operators and band conditions.
