GB2SRS 'On Air' from Cub Scout Sixer's Day in Suffolk

GB2SRS Suffolk Radio Sixers/Scouts/Seconders (take your pick) will be On Air from the Suffolk Cub Scout Sixer's and Seconder's Day at Bradfield Park Campsite near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk on Saturday the 8th of March.

The team will consist of Peter G8BLS, Ashley M3UAQ, Ryan Radio Scout and Thomas M3WLT, Malcolm G4CXT may put in a guest appearance during the day.

We hope/intend to be on Air for the Scout Net at 09-00, if we can get up early enough! The activities start officially at 10-00 and run through until 15-00. We intend to be on 80 metres mostly but may try 40 metres depending upon conditions.

I note that VK1BP will be on air from 0700 until 1200, so we might try and see if we can hear them, I guess we will be too late for 40m but we will listen out on 20m with a half wave vertical. Realistically our chances are 'limited', particularly as we are 30 Km from the nearest 'salt water amplifier'.

Our station will rely on CubScout power as we will not have any mains nearby, Cub Scouts will be pedalling our modified exercise bike (as used on Brownsea Island by Eduardo Missoni) see

Network/Sunrise%20Network.htm

We will be on 2 metres with a colinear and a 4 element beam, using various FT817s (all Radio Scouts should have one)

We will try to be listening to MB7IIP the Ipswich link using EchoLink, node number 262500, or the Chelmsford link MB7IDA-L node no 265297.

If anyone wishes to make contact for a sked etc then call or text my mobile +44(0)7930 730034 with freq and we will try to meet you there.
