D-STAR search site uses Google maps

The dstarsearch.org website now makes use of Google maps to display the location of Internet connected D-STAR nodes.

The site uses the jFindu locator site to provide a list of recently heard stations on a specific D-STAR repeater.

For instance by going to dstarsearch.org and selecting Europe then Northern I was able to select GB7SS at Hockley in Essex from the United Kingdom drop-down menu. This gave me a list of stations heard through the repeater.

By using the Google Satellite Map facility it is now possible to zoom in to get a picture of the approximate location of the repeater.
