Intermediate Text Book changes for new syllabusThe new UK Amateur Radio Intermediate syllabus comes into effect on June 1st and has resulted in some significant changes to the Intermediate manual. Steve Hartley G0FUW has been working on the required changes to the Intermediate Manual for the new syllabus and in an email, reproduced with permission, summing up the changes he says: Please be aware that the Intermediate syllabus and exam structure changes on 1 June and the changes are quite significant. I think there are changes to about 90% of the current book pages - this is not a minor edit! There are completely new/amended worksheets on AC, Reactance, Impeadance and Tuned Circuits, Series and Parallel Circuits and Transistor Biasing. The changes to the treatment of Impedance has also resulted in changes to the way antennas, feeders, filters and tuned circuits are handled. 73, Steve, G0FUW The Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) recently updated their free Foundation Course PowerPoint slides, see http://www.southgatearc.org/news/january2009/ In April they will be starting a new Intermediate course and so will be undertaking the task of updating those slides as well. When the updates are completed the new Intermediate slides will also be available free from the CARS amateur radio training website at http://www.g0mwt.org.uk/training/ To find out more about CARS courses contact Clive G1EUC E-mail: training2008 at g0mwt.org.uk Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society New June 2009 Intermediate Syllabus Radio Communications Foundation RCE Exams RSGB Tutors Web pages
