Red Nose Day 09

Hi, I am Michael Bryans, a licensed radio amateur with the call sign 2EOUMB.
I am a computer Instructor, in the OT Department of the Bethlem Royal Hospital in Beckenham Kent.

For Red Nose Day 09, I am going to do something that has never been done before, I am proposing a sponsor ‘Roger and Out’ where I will make as many radio contacts as possible over a period of 18 hours to raise money for this great cause.

I am a licensed Amateur Radio Operator and have held a license with the call sign, 2EOUMB, for the last three years.

On Red Nose Day, Friday 13th March 09, I will be transmitting across the airwaves, making contact with as many fellow radio hams as possible to raise money for the charity. The more radio contacts I get throughout the day, the more sponsorship money I am to receive. I will operating from 6.00am to 12 midnight.

The rules are quite simple, to make a contact on simplex, UK Repeaters and HF. All radio amateurs all over the world with a call sign can use their call sign to contact people. They can contact me with their call sign and each contact I make will then enter into my Red Nose radio log book, where their call sign and location will be noted.

Each individual that make contact with me, will be counted only ONCE, so that the sponsorship I receive will be for the amount of people that I have made contact with, not how many times that I have spoken to them.

Now that you have read all the jargon, this is now where I need your help. I need people to sponsor me, this can be as little as 1p for each contact or a just a ‘one off amount for the effort that I making. I know that times are hard out there for everyone at the moment, but every small donation goes towards a smile on a child’s face.

I have been given a lot of support and encouragement from fellow radio amateurs and work colleagues and with your help I can give my support to Red Nose Day 09…
