Special Event Call ZS08TV
ZS08TV was registered in order to commemorate the Treaty of Vereeniging and was first activated on South Africa’s Heritage Day 2008, September 24th.
This treaty marked the end of the Anglo-Boer War, 1899-1902 waged between British and Empire forces and the established European South African population.
Most of the field days when ham radio contacts are made will be public demonstrations of the effectiveness of the radio hobby and form part of events arranged by the Museum Department of the Municipality of Vereeniging, to celebrate Heritage Day.
ZS08TV is reported to operate between 14000 and 14070 and on 7020 kHz CW, as well as 14140 and possibly 14225 and 7055 to 7090 kHz SSB.
