The Squid Pole antenna

The Northern Tasmanian Amateur Radio Club's purchase of squid poles has been incredibly popular, so much so that the first lot of 20 sold out in days, and they had to order another 10 to keep up with demand!

Read Phil VK7JJ's excellent construction article on the squid pole antenna.

Phil says that it works well on 80, 40 & 20 metres, and is no slouch on 30 and 15 metres with a little help from an ATU, is fast to erect and easy to build.

Phil also details the theory of operation of the antenna on each of the resonant bands, and is a fantastic read.
