Camb-Hams Harris DXPedition ‘10

The Camb-Hams are the social side of the Cambridgeshire Repeater Group – you’ve probably read about us in RadCom.

This year marks our third annual DXpedition from May 1st to May 15th – and a return to the Isle of Harris (EU-010) where last year’s week-long venture brought 4,000 QSOs on all bands and modes from top band to 70cm.

This year we plan HF (voice and data), 6m, 4m and VHF/UHF satellite operation.

We will be staying for two weeks and also plan on launching a mini DXpedition to the Monarch Isles. We will be taking 'Flossie' along – she is the CRG’s Fiat Ducato Amateur Radio Demonstration station which is fully equipped with a 60ft Clark mast. (The CRG will be using Flossie to provide the talk-in and special event station at this year’s RSGB AGM).

Experienced IOTA DXpeditioner Martin Atherton, G3ZAY, will be joining us on the trip, as will our stalwart SOTA team. Last year they activated all the SOTA summits on Harris – this year they plan to tackle some if not all of the summits on Lewis!
