Euroluna’s double CubeSat MiniRomit1
will be launched on the first orbital flight of Neptune 30 planned for December 2010.
The Neptune 30 launcher is capable of carrying 4 single CubeSats, or 2 double CubeSats, along with 26 TubeSats. The launch will take place from the Kingdom of Tonga with the intention of putting the satellites into a 310km orbit.
The aim of MiniRomit1 is to test the imaging capabilities, on board computer and communication equipment, including ground stations in preparation for a mission to the moon in an attempt to win the Google Lunar X PRIZE.
It is understood that the group have been issued the Amateur Radio callsign OZ9LUNA.
