Belgian Lightships and Lighthouses exhibition

Between 1 June and 31 October there will be an exhibition on Belgium’s lightships and lighthouses organised by the Belgian National Ship’s museum.

The museum asked the Antwerp radio club OSA to help to activate lighthouses and lightships, not just in Belgium but also in other countries.

OSA members will be active as ON9BD from the lightship Westhinder III from its berth in Antwerp, but they ask for groups in other countries also to activate lighthouses or lightships, or to operate portable from their vicinity, during the period of the exhibition.

If you plan to do this, you are requested to contact Gaetan, ON4GDB, by e-mail: on4gdb<no spam>@telenet.be in order to help the group coordinate the activity.

If you are visiting Belgium you are welcome to visit the lightship Westhinder III in Antwerp, but please check first that there will be someone available to greet you.

An award for amateurs and SWLs contacting participating stations will be available later in the year.
