Good 2m DX during Sunday's aurora

It looks like there was a good aurora on Sunday. The report below from Paul G4DCV shows there was plenty of DX to be worked on 2 metres CW.

This afternoon we had a cracker of an aurora on 2m. There was a huge amount of activity from around Europe, probably because it started just as their contest was finishing and more than 100 stations were audible on 2m CW from here.

I went looking for new countries and squares rather than quantity and so worked just 19 stations including 5 SPs, SK, HA, OM (new country for me from here) and S50. All on CW. A very nice afternoon's catch on 144Mhz!

It was particularly nice to work George GI4SRQ who was a great signal throughout the opening. George you were a new square and new DXCC for me from this QTH so many thanks!

Let's hope we get a second phase later.
