Remington Arms Company wants 1-watt on 900 Mhz and 2.4Ghz

The Law Enforcement Technologies Division of the Remington Arms Company has requested a waiver from the FCC. This, in order to permit the authorization, importation and operation of its video and audio surveillance system known as the "Remington Eyeball R1."

According to the CGC Communicator, the R1 system uses analog modulation in the 2.4 GHz band, and the remote control for the R1 operates from 902-928 Mhz. One-watt Effective Radiated Power in both bands is proposed.

Amateur radio shares the 902 to 928 MHz band with several other services including Location and Monitoring and numerous unlicensed devices such as wireless local area networking devices.

Interested parties may file comments on Remington's waiver request on or before June 6th.
