Ariss antenna cables on Columbus

As announced in the ARISS-Europe News Bulletin of 2nd May 2006, the cables for the ARISS antennas are presently being installed on the hull of Columbus.

ARISS team member Oliver Amend, DG6BCE took photos of the work in progress.

The module is currently rotated by 90 degrees clockwise for the integration of the payload racks.

Here you see the installation of an MDP (Meteorite Debris Panel). The hatch opening (Port Cone) is in this view towards the right side of the module.
Below the left arm of the technician you can see the 2 coax cables (violet colour).

In this picture (right) you see the coax cable routing, outlined in violet. The antenna fixation points are already manufactured. They are marked in green on the picture. The shape of the antenna is outlined in blue. The green mark outside of the blue area indicates the bonding strap connection.

Mechanical vibration tests of the L/S-band antennas will be done in the next few days.
