Help clean-up 40 metres

Many stations not licensed to operate on the Amateur Radio portion of the 40m band use the spectrum.

IARU Monitoring System groups around the world are monitoring and reporting the intruders. We now need your assistance to get a perspective from Southern Africa.

The South African Radio League IARUMS group is looking for radio amateurs and shortwave listeners who can monitor the spectrum 7000 - 7100 kHz and log intruders. As much detail should be reported and where possible the station's name and area from where it operates should be recorded.

To help you to help us, guidelines will be available on the SARL web from mid next week. Visit www.sarl.org.za.

You may also request the guidelines to be mailed to you by sending a request to armi@sarl.org.za or fax to 012 991 5651
