TV viewers will see the World Cup 'as live' - well, almost
Iranian state broadcaster IRIB has signed a contract to show 30 of the
64 opening round matches in next month's World Cup from Germany, and all
the matches in the knockout stages.
Viewers will see all the action on the pitch 'as live', but the delayed
transmission will allow the censors to remove any scenes that are deemed
inappropriate - such as scantily clad women in the crowd (a favourite
of TV directors covering Brazil's matches).
