On the Road with PW

Practical Wireless editor Rob Mannion G3XFD always enjoys meeting readers of PW, and often tours the country visiting amateur radio clubs throughout the United Kingdom

In March, Rob went 'north of the border' to pay a visit to the Cockenzie and Port Seton Amateur Radio Club in Scotland.

Well, it seems as if they may have looked after him just a tad too well, as it would appear that he can't wait to go back again. So much so in fact, that he's back in Scotland again on Tuesday night, 9th, for yet another club visit.

Kilmarnock & Loudoun Amateur Radio Club

This time, Rob will be at the clubhouse of the Kilmarnock and Loudoun Amateur Radio Club, where a joint meeting has been organised with members of the Ayr Amateur Radio Group.

This promises to be a good evening so, if you're in the area, why not pop along and say 'hello'.  The meeting, which starts at 7.30pm, has been organised and is hosted by Len Paget GM0ONX

The club meets at:
East Ayrshire Council Internal Transport Depot,
34 Main Street,
Crookedholm near Kilmarnock

You'll find a map and directions to the club below.

From the Bellfield Interchange (A77) follow signs for Hurlford. Continue into Hurlford town centre and on reaching a small roundabout at Hurlford cross take first left where you immediately enter Crookedholm. Follow this road for approx 0.5miles passing 2 churches on your right hand side. On passing the 2nd church you will see a small row of cottages. Immediately after these cottages turn right into the council yard and the club is located on the left hand side. The red dot on the map (above) signifies the club QTH.
