25 years’ loyal service

Sylvia Manco, 2E1CYL, has recently celebrated 25 years of continuous employment with the Radio Society of Great Britain. Sylvia joined the RSGB in October 1980 and now works as the society’s amateur radio secretariat.

As a mark of appreciation of her 25 years of loyal service, Sylvia was presented with a special certificate and a watch by RSGB general manager Peter Kirby, G0TWW, at the society’s annual general meeting in Belfast on 6 May.

Sylvia said: “Over the 25 years working for the RSGB, I have made many friends both within the amateur radio community and my colleagues. It’s mainly thanks to them that I achieved 25 years of service. I am proud to be associated with the RSGB and look forward to serving and working with the society’s members for many more years.”

In praise of Sylvia’s work and commitment, Peter said: “In the 90-odd year history of the Radio Society of Great Britain, Sylvia is the third longest serving employee. The only two who have served for longer are May Gaddson, who was the assistant secretary for 35 years, and John Clarricoates, who was the General Secretary for 33 years.”
