German
Radio Hams to keep general access to Telekom's Radio towers
Following up the talks between the DARC, RTA (Runder Tisch Amateurfunk)
and the DFMG (Telekom Daughter, who administrates the constructing and
use of Telekom's radio towers), German radio hams still will have general
access to Telekom's radio towers.
During the past, radio amateurs used Telekom towers for the purpose of
repeater, digipeater and packet radio sites.
On some places there were up to 20 antennas, which the DFMG now had
to cut down to a maximum of 4 antennas and a maximum power input of 100
watts.
DFMG's explanation to this rather extreme cut-down of space is to give
room for the extended need of space and access of other radio and tele
services such as Tetra-BOS, Wimax, DVB-T, DAB, Cell phone services and
so on ...
