YC9BU house fire appeal

IOTA (Islands of the Air) chasers of the last 15 years will know of the enormous contribution that Kadek, YC9BU has made to the program in both activating rare Indonesian islands and acting as qsl manager for about 26 other such operations around Indonesia.

Just last month, Kadek suffered a devastating house fire which destroyed his house, shack and all his belongings. Fortunately his family are all safe.

A number of amateurs from around the world who have benefited greatly from Kadek's enormous contribution to IOTA chasing feel that some "Ham Spirit" should prevail and have arranged for a collection to be made to assist Kadek in getting back on air to something like before.

Naturally, Kadek is very down at the moment and Amateur Radio, and in particular IOTA chasing, are going to be very low on his priorities, as he tries to re-establish his young family.

A web site link has been produced at www.mdxc.org/yb9bu which details the appeal, has a glowing reference from Roger, G3KMA, RSGB IOTA Manager and shows some pictures of the total devastation he has suffered.

Donations can be made directly to the website or if you wish donations will be collected in the Australasian region by Peter Forbes VK3QI.

All donations will be acknowledged on the website (unless anonymous) and to facilitate an early positive outcome, a cut-off date of July 1 has been set, however later donations will be accepted.
