Big turnout for Moorabbin Hamfest

On Saturday the 10th of May the Moorabbin and District Radio Club conducted it's annual hamfest at the Brentwood Secondary College in Glen Waverley, an outer eastern suburb of Melbourne.

WIA President Michael Owen VK3KI, WIA Secretary Geoff Atkinson VK3AFA, WIA Director Robert Broomhead VK3KRB and Dianne Ashton VK3FDIZ from the WIA office were all in attendance.

WIA President Michael Owen said it was great to have the opportunity to personally welcome and thank those who showed their support for the WIA and who signed up for
membership on the day.

A large number of books and merchandise were sold, with popular items being the new WIA Second Edition Foundation Licence Manual, the WIA 2008 Callbook, Bookshop Books, WIA Polo Shirts and Caps.

Moorabbin club President Graeme Lewis VK3GL said the day was a huge success, with both table sales and attendance up on previous years. Graham said there was significant positive feedback from both the second hand and commercial traders reporting the day to have been one of Victoria's best hamfests.
