Technical info about the new Portuguese D-STAR RepeatersThe technical projects, as well as the licensing process for two new D-STAR repeaters have been approved officially by ICP-ANACOM (Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações), the Portuguese Administration of Telecommunications (the equivalent to FCC in Portugal). Such before mentioned official licences have been acknowledged to A.R.L.A. - Associação de Radioamadores do Litoral Alentejano and A.R.A.T. - Associação de Radioamadores do Alto Tâmega, ham radio associations. These two new repeaters will operate only at the 70 cm Amateur Radio band, within the Digital Repeater Communications sub-band, according to the IARU recommendation channels. Info data about the new device licensed by A. R. L. A. - Associação de Radioamadores do Litoral Alentejano: UHF Channel: RU578
Licence owner and maintenance responsibility: Both Ham Radio Associations have join efforts with NAUCOM (Icom's delegate company for Portugal), and after the ICP-ANACOM agreement, both projects have become achievable. Thanks to this partnership it was possible to engage this new technology in Portugal. For the three current D-STAR Portuguese repeaters in action - CQ0DFO, CQ0DLR and CQ0DLX - is now available a new version of the required Internet gateway software. Best Regards.
