Chelmsford Contest University Talk

Mark Haynes, M0DXR, of the Icom UK Contest Group G6PZ, will be giving a talk about the Contest University at the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) on Tuesday 5th May.

This meeting is in two parts. At 7:30pm Geoff Mills G3EDM will give a talk titled "Honeybees, Amateur Radio and Radar".

After the 9pm break Mark Haynes M0DXR, who did the very successful "Contest University" at last year's RSGB HF Convention (HFC), will be talking about contesting and the plans for the Contest University at this year's HFC.

The fact that for the first time ever over ten thousand logs were submitted to the CQ World Wide (CQWW) contest is a sign of the steadily growing interest in contest operating, see http://forums.qrz.com/showthread.php?t=200478

The club meetings take place on the 1st Tuesday of each month between 7:30 and 10:15pm (doors open at 07:10) at the Marconi Social Club (MASC), Beehive Lane, Great Baddow, Chelmsford, CM2 9RX. There is free parking and a bar for refreshments.

• The Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society run training courses for the Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced amateur radio exams as well as for Morse code on Thursday evenings at the Danbury Village Hall.
