Eddystone G6SL special event station at NVCF Sunday May 10th

The National Vintage Communications Fair is being held at the Warwick Exhibition Centre this Sunday, May 10th (details from http://www.nvcf.org.uk/).

Alan Ainslie has been invited by the organisers, the British Vintage Wireless Society, to put on a large display of Eddystone receivers covering the entire history of the famous marque.

Alan has asked me as keeper of the old Eddystone callsign G6SL to put on a special event station during the day using Eddystone equipment.

I have chosen to use the last HF Commercial Transceiver the company ever made, the Orion 7000. This gives out 100W over the range 1.6MHz to 30Mhz but is channelised. I have set the channels up for operation on 80m/40m for UK work and 20m for overseas. I am proposing to use a dipole for 20m/40m and a long wire for 80m.

The station should be operational from opening time (10.30 or beforehand) until closing time (4pm).

If you hear us, give us a call.
