'Fists Down Under' member ties the knot

The 9th of May dawned a typical brilliant and warm sunny day at the QTH of 'Fists Down Under' member VK3FGE – David #9088 in Porepunkah, a sparsely populated village with views of nearby Mount Buffalo.

But this day, David was not working out better ways of getting more RF up the antennas. - He was about to tie the knot and marry his partner Elayna. A civil ceremony was held in the garden, resplendent in autumn colours Witnessed by family members and friends.

When it came to the vows of the "I Will" variety, David serenaded Elayna in good voice with the song "The Twelfth of Never..." This brought a round of applause from the onlookers.

L to R - Chris VK2CTN, Fists representative in VK, David VK3FGE, Elayna, Chris VK3CGB and David VK3DBD

The day was not entirely without radio interest as among the guests were Chris VK2CTN #9057 who travelled several hundred kilometres from Wellington in NSW.

Also present were VK3CGB-Chris #9087 and VK3DBD-David #3756 who took the wedding photos. Here are the foursome with the bride, Elayna, A cut above the others no doubt, but perhaps ready for some ladder work with antennas very soon….

David and Elayna are considering a QSY to a smaller QTH and should any enterprising ham out there like the look of their one acre property, complete with a 70ft mast and far enough away from nearest neighbour to forget about QRM, then the opportunity may be worth investigating!
