Geoparks Communication Weekend 23/24th MayGB6GEO will be on the air during the weekend of 23/24th May 2009 from Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves in Torquay, Devon, UK as part of the European Geoparks Festival week. Martin G3VOF (GB6GEO) provides this update: Hi everybody, We have almost reached the Geoparks Communication Weekend 23/24 May, so I thought that I would send out some information. It would be good if all Geopark stations can operate as close to 3.680 Mhz, 7.080Mhz, 14.180Mhz, 21.180Mhz, and 28.480Mhz. I have advertised these frequencies, as ones we would try to use if possible. People chasing the Geopark diploma will find it easier to obtain if we stick to these frequencies, plus or minus the qrm. We will also be monitoring, and using MB7ITB our local Echolink gateway node 257017. May I suggest the European Geopark stations try a sked at 1300 GMT, Sat 23rd on 7080Mhz, and all Geopark stations try at 1500GMT on 14.180Mhz. Would everybody please give out the following information about our certificate: To qualify now for the Geopark certificate, GB6GEO will be an instant qualifier, or any two other Geopark stations (not including GB6GEO). Certificates will cost UK £2.20 each, Europe €3 and Rest of the world USD5. Awards Manager, Martin Foster G3VOF (qth www.qrz.com). GB6GEO will be rigging on Friday 22nd May, and hope to be on the air around 1500GMT, then non stop for 48hrs. Good luck to everybody and I hope to meet you all on the air.
